Watch your baby grow
Drag along the line, or use the slider, to see how big your baby is in any week, from a poppy seed to a pumpkin.
Length is measured crown to rump up to week 19 and head to heel from week 20, so the line steps up where the dashes are. Weight stays under a gram until week 9, then climbs fastest in the last ten weeks. Figures are averages, healthy babies vary, and the illustrations are simplified.

What each trimester brings

Energy often returns and your bump shows. You may feel first kicks, and the anatomy scan happens around week 20.
Start at week 13Third trimester
Baby gains weight fast and settles head down. Visits become more frequent as you plan for birth and pack your bag.
